2014 Fox Cities Marathon Events

2014 Fox Cities Marathon CollageDuring the weekend of September 19-21, several Faith Technologies’ employees and their families participated in the Fox Cities Marathon Business Challenge, where companies went head-to-head in friendly competitions. The challenge took place in Neenah, Wis., and included a Kid’s Fun Run, 5k Run/Walk, relay marathon, half marathon, and full marathon.

This was Faith Technologies’ fifth year participating in the Business Challenge, and we had 43 employees and family members join in on the fun – 22 individuals for the 5K Run/Walk, two five-person relay teams, 10 individuals for the half marathon, and one individual for the full marathon.

Each year, these events excite, challenge, and build camaraderie amongst our employees.

Charlie Fredrickson, Vice President- Investments, challenged himself to partake in the half marathon this year. “It’s easy to sleep in on Saturday mornings or decide not to get out of bed for a training run at 5:00 a.m.; but then you think about the commitment you made to yourself and your corporate team, and it motivates you to stick to the training program. The feeling you have on that last mile when you see Riverside Park is truly an amazing one. The best part is that this experience builds healthy habits that I will continue with well after the race is done.”

“I took part in both the 5k and relay marathon events. I enjoyed participating with my coworkers, and thought this event was a great way to promote workplace wellness and team-building. I’ll definitely be participating again next year!” said Kelsey Van Grinsven, Human Resources Coordinator-HRIS.

In addition to these events, Faith Technologies also sponsored a water station at Mile 12 of the marathons on Sunday. Employees and their family members helped hand out water and Gatorade to the runners, all while sporting their favorite superhero attire, as this year’s water station themes were geared around fictional characters.

Our “Faith team” had a lot of fun participating in this challenge together, and enjoyed the beautiful fall weather while staying active. We look forward to another successful year next year, and hope you join us!
