2019: The Year That Was

‘The days are long, but the years are short,’ is a phrase often echoed by parents as we struggle through long days of caring for babies, then children, then adolescents and teenagers. Eventually we get to a point where we’re not sure how we made it through those days, but now we look back and wonder where the years went.

For those in a technology industry, that could describe 2019 as well. At Faith Technologies, many of us have likely had long days that turned into long weeks, blurring into months. As we close the year, however, we can look back with a sense of accomplishment over what we’ve done.

Our blog posts provide a nice summary of some of the things going on at Faith Technologies over the past year. We began the year with a great read on leadership from Chuck Rutledge, safety director. We can’t close out the year without wishing Chuck the best as he begins his retirement in the new year and thanking him for his wisdom and insights over the past few years.

Working safely is our first core value statement, and this was expressed in several posts through the year, including how we create and use safety committees, the impact of safety audits and the personal side of safety for our team members.

Faith continues to redefine what’s possible in our industries, and our productivity efforts prove this out. Pull planning greatly impacts our jobsite productivity, and the use of 5S provides our teams with the tools they need to be successful. Through the use of advanced design and scanning tools, we support our customers’ preconstruction needs. New technologies do not come without consequences, and our risk management team helps us mitigate security risks.

The technology landscape advances at breakneck speed, and Faith continues to be on the cutting edge of connected buildings. We continue to help our customers evaluate their energy needs to optimize their budgets and decrease their carbon footprint.

All of the work we do and the advancements we make would not be possible without our talent development efforts, beginning with our Faith Technologies University apprenticeship programs, continuing with our training and advancement programs for all team members.

2019 has been a good year, and we’re thankful for our industry partners, customers and clients who have trusted us with their business and support. Thank you for coming along on this ride with us – wait until you see what we have in store for 2020 and beyond!
