Faces of Faith Technologies | Meet Dallas, Electrical Apprentice

At Faith Technologies, we have some amazing employees who make our culture unique. The Faces of Faith Technologies series aims to highlight the talented individuals who work with us. Each month, we’ll introduce you to several of these individuals so you can get to know the ‘Faces of Faith Technologies.’ We recently talked to Dallas Wondergem, an Electrical Apprentice from Marinette, WI. Here’s what he had to say:

What led you to work for Faith Technologies?

I was looking for work, and Dan Coakley, Electrical Apprentice – Year Three, referred me to Faith. I really enjoyed it from the start and still do today.

What does your job entail day-to-day?Dallas Wondergem_Family

Some of my daily responsibilities include reading blueprints, pulling wire and wiring panels to specification. In addition, I make sure the motors and controllers are hooked up and running properly on the hangar door and rescue boat. For bigger tasks, I have an Electrical Helper or Apprentice to help.

Can you talk about your experience in the Apprenticeship program?

The Apprenticeship program has been great; it comes naturally to me, and I’m doing well academically. The teachers are very helpful, Mark Cook especially. It’s been an eye-opening experience that has helped to show me my own potential. I have two more classes to finish, and I’m excited to begin my fourth year and earn my Journeyman’s card.

Favorite project – what about it did you enjoy the most?

I’ve enjoyed working on the ships the most, where I currently work. I’ve gained knowledge on the ship processes, and the crew has become family to me. Having ownership of the hangar and rescue boat systems has also been fun, I feel like I’m making a difference every day, and it’s become more than just a job for me.

What are some of your favorite things about your job?

I could not ask for a better group of guys to work with and for. The ship can be a dangerous environment, but we all work together to get the job done and stay safe.

What are some of your hobbies or interests outside of work?Dallas Wondergem_Veteran

I enjoy hunting and fishing with friends and guys from work, we always have a great time. Staying active in the veterans community is important to me; I participate in fundraising events such as the Suicide Awareness Ruck March, where participants ruck (walk with a weighted backpack) on the Fox River trail in Green Bay, WI. I was also lucky enough to skydive for the first time through the Freedom Freefall skydiving event, which definitely had my adrenaline going and was an experience I’ll never forget.

Are there any personal accomplishments you would like to share?

Aside from my six children, my biggest personal accomplishment would be my military service. I’m very proud to have served, but happy to be home to be with my family.

What’s your why?

My why is my family, my fiancé and kids motivate me to do my best and come home to them safely.

Do you have any aspirations or goals, either inside or outside of work, that you’d like to share?

In the next five years I’d like to become a foreman. I like the idea of being in a leadership role, but still having boots on the ground and working with the crew. Staying connected to the jobsite is important to me, so that’s one of my professional goals.
