Faces of Faith Technologies | Meet Hector, Foreman

At Faith Technologies, we have some amazing employees who make our culture unique. The Faces of Faith Technologies series aims to highlight the talented individuals who work with us. Each month, we’ll introduce you to several of these individuals so you can get to know the ‘Faces of Faith Technologies.’ We recently talked to Hector Esteves, a native Uruguayan, currently working as a foreman in Atlanta. Here’s what he had to say:

What led you to work for Faith Technologies?

I started performing electrical work when I lived in Uruguay, and I moved to the United States to pursue a career in the industry. The first position I held was with a paint company; Faith hired me to fix walls, and eventually sent me to the apprenticeship program in Atlanta. I’ve learned so much working for Faith, and I’m grateful for the opportunities I’ve been given. Although my home is now the United States, I return to Uruguay every year to visit my mother, brothers and extended family.

What does your position entail?

My day begins by reviewing the Operational Risk Management (ORM) board with my crew – we are very focused on safety and productivity. I manage a crew that handles rough-ins, which means we pull the electrical cables through the wall studs and insert them into the wall. With the drawings on the ground to help guide us, we install the electrical aspects, but do not finish them. Once the room has been approved by the inspector, our crew returns to finish installing the lighting receptacles, such as light switches. I enjoy my role because each day brings new challenges and we can learn as a team.

How has your position changed over time?

I began as an apprentice, so my position has become more advanced and challenging since I started. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that when you want to raise yourself up, you need to work hard and commit to your role. I’ve been able to grow as a person and a professional through opportunities such as the Hi-Po program, which helped me to learn about different cultures and work styles.

What are some of your hobbies or interests outside of work?

Hector Esteves - FOFT - Collage

My hobbies revolve around my family – we have soccer practice during the week, and games on the weekend. After work I enjoy taking care of my animals; we have chickens, lambs and a couple of dogs around the house. My wife and I don’t like the kids to sit around on their phones, so we have a pool and a tree house in the backyard to keep them active. When I’m able to take vacation, we head to Orlando, Florida to explore Walt Disney World and relax with the kids.

Are there any personal accomplishments you’d like to share?

I’m very happy with my life, and I’m happy working for Faith. To me that is an accomplishment, because so many are unhappy with what they do. I’m motivated to work hard because I think by raising myself up I raise Faith as a company, too.
