Faces of Faith Technologies | Meet Nick, Journeyman Electrician

At Faith Technologies, we have some amazing employees who make our culture unique. The Faces of Faith Technologies series aims to highlight the talented individuals who work with us. Each month, we’ll introduce you to several of these individuals so you can get to know the ‘Faces of Faith Technologies.’ This month, we talked to Nick Gerard from our Milwaukee, Wisconsin branch. Nick began the apprenticeship program in 2006 and is currently a Journeyman Electrician. Here’s what he had to say:

What led you to work for Faith Technologies?

I was working for a different contractor, and the friend of my neighbor who worked for Faith shared that the organization had a lot to offer in the way of career paths, and recommended I consider working here.

What does your position entail?

I’m often running jobs and crews. A normal day starts between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m., and includes setting up crews for work, prioritizing work that needs to be performed in the current and subsequent weeks and managing staffing requirements. I may run pipe, pull wire or spend the day doing paper work. It can be a multitude of things on any given day.

What are some of your favorite things about your job?

The flexibility and the comradery of the other guys on the jobsite.

What are some of your hobbies or interests outside of work?

I have three kids, so going to sports with them keeps me busy. I also enjoy getting out of the house, hunting and fishing when I can, and going on road trips. We have family land in central Wisconsin we like to go to.

Are there any personal accomplishments you would like to share?

I’d say raising three well rounded kids.

Where do you see yourself in five years?

I see myself being a foreman and maybe taking up a teaching role. I personally would like to make a position for an onsite instructor on larger jobsites.  I’d like to take a group of people and onsite train them on items they have not been exposed to and taking the burden off of the leadership onsite. I may also be interested in taking a position with our training staff in Appleton, Wisconsin in the future.

What’s your why?

My why is going home at the end of the day. It’s also making sure that I’m safe and the guys I’m working with are doing things in a safe, well thought-out manner.
