Faith Technologies Apprentice Competes at National Craft Championship

Did you know that there are more than 45,000 electrical apprentices in the United States? Last week, Faith Technologies’ fourth year electrical apprentice, Justin Shepherd, competed amongst the top 32 in the nation at the National Craft Championship (NCC) sponsored by Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC).

The NCC brings together the best-in-class craft apprentices for an arduous two-day competition testing trade knowledge, safe practices and hands-on skills during the ABC National Convention. These competitors are so respected for their extreme talent that the University of Southern California (USC) marching band – yes, the sunglass-wearing USC Trojan marching band – even escorted them into the convention!

Justin’s road to nationals began in December when Faith hosted its own in-house craft competition (which we blogged about here). The national competition was similar, with the first day focusing on a knowledge test and conduit bending, followed by a simulated job on the second day. Justin breezed through the skills portion, being the first competitor to finish. Not only did he complete first, but he also had one of the cleanest and most organized areas, fully demonstrating Faith’s core value of an uncompromised focus on keeping people safe.

Although Justin wasn’t able to capture the gold, we couldn’t be more proud of the professionalism, passion and talent he displayed while competing. We congratulate him for being a part of the elite group of electrical apprentices that competed at the NCC, and look forward to his continued growth at Faith Technologies.
