Faith Technologies Project Spotlight: ThedaCare Regional Cancer Center

ThedaCare Regional Cancer Center, located in northeast Wisconsin, is a new cutting-edge facility designed to provide collaborative care in one central location. The 84,000 square foot facility opened on February 1, 2016, and offers a broad range of treatments, services, and resources including built-in monitors to easily connect with off-site care providers and family members; peaceful greenspace with gardens, a walking trail and a water feature; collaborative workspaces for multiple specialists to easily communicate; and health and wellness support services.

Faith Technologies was contracted by The Boldt Company to construct this new and highly demanded cancer center, and the increased need for world-class cancer treatment in the area brought this project to life. Faith provided design-build, engineering, building information modeling (BIM), lighting, specialty systems, and electrical installation services. During construction, robotic total station (RTS) technology was utilized to identify ground layouts, electrical room layouts, and site layouts for lighting. This helped the project team with pre-planning the underground and distribution layouts, allowing us to exceed the client’s deadline expectations by completing the project two weeks early.

The construction of this, LEED certified facility offers many unique attributes. One of the most challenging during the process was the construction of the radiation treatment vaults that were built with concrete walls up to six feet thick. The complex design of these vaults required increased focus, accuracy and precision from our engineering, design and field teams, and we integrated excellent collaboration and processes to check for both quality and accuracy during this phase of the project.
