Jones Lang LaSalle: 2011 Engineering Operations Conference

Faith Technologies' exhibition booth at the Jones Lang LaSalle Conference.Recently I, along with three other Faith Technologies’ team members (Brian Downie, Marv Ebben, and Mark Liesener), had the opportunity to represent our company at the 2011 Jones Lang LaSalle Engineering Operations Conference in Austin, Texas.  Jones Lang LaSalle is one of the largest real estate services companies in the world. With 750 locations in 60 countries, their 30,000 service professionals are constantly learning new ways to offer more services and bring more value to their customers. 

This conference brought together over 350 engineers and operations professionals from across North America. It was set in the rolling hills of South Central Texas along the Colorado River. Enjoying the beautiful scenery may have been one of the perks, but the real purpose of this event was to learn and share best practices with regards to building maintenance and building operations. The theme of this year’s conference was “Knowledge – Collaboration – Innovation” with a focus on innovation. 

Faith Technologies was one of only 18 vendors who were invited to this event. Our experience and reputation as a leader in the electrical construction industry – particularly in the areas of electrical safety, energy efficient design, and the installation of energy efficient lighting systems – gave our team the unique opportunity to bring added value to this conference. Conversations with building engineers at the conference ranged from how to incorporate new LED lamp technology into existing facilities, to the latest code requirements concerning electrical safety.  Of particular interest was Faith Technologies’ Arc Flash and risk analysis capabilities.

This conference demonstrated that to be a leader in your industry, you must constantly find new ways to bring value to your customer. To do this, you must commit yourself to learning – learn your trade, learn your customer’s trade – and along the way help them find new and innovative ways to be successful. Jones Lang LaSalle has a passion for helping their customers succeed. I am grateful for the opportunity to attend this event and look forward to future conferences with Jones Lang LaSalle.
