What Sets Faith Technologies’ Apprenticeship Program Apart?

In the last month, more than 80 apprentices have graduated from Faith Technologies University (FTU) and have moved on to achieve a Journeyman or Technician status within the organization. To support our growth and combat the industry’s skilled labor shortage, Faith Technologies has invested heavily in our internal apprenticeship program. As we transition to a new school year, we prepare to train more than 800 apprentices, including welcoming nearly 150 new first-year apprentices into our program!

Inspired by our core value to Redefine What’s Possible, our FTU team continues to expand the learning opportunities we provide to our employees. Having an internal apprenticeship program provides us with endless benefits, and we continue to evaluate our program to build on its strengths. Our in-house apprenticeships have several key differentiators, including:

  • Core Training: Starting this fall, all new apprentices at FTU will complete one year of general studies prior to starting advanced-level training in one of our specialized technical training tracks. During core training, apprentices can expect to study topics such as AC/DC theory, raceways and pathways and cable terminations, as well as being introduced to the standards that govern our trades such as NEC, BICSI and TIA. Once an apprentice has completed core training, he/she will move on to either an Electrical or Electronic Systems Technician training track.
  • Incorporation of Key Strategies and Differentiators: Having an in-house apprenticeship program gives us the opportunity to customize the curriculum to meet the needs of not only our clients, but also our apprentices and the organization. One way we do so is by incorporating key corporate strategies into our training. Throughout the apprenticeship program, our students learn what makes Faith Technologies different. They learn about our business model, the incorporation of logistics and productivity concepts in construction, and most importantly, how to keep themselves and others safe in all aspects of their work.
  • Career Paths and Financial Stability: Throughout their time at Faith Technologies, employees are encouraged to continue to learn about the organization, and even to explore other career paths. In fact, nearly 45% of our employees have been promoted in the last 12 months! This includes several apprentices who have demonstrated their ability to advance into roles in field leadership, preconstruction and solutions engineering prior to completing their apprenticeship training. Our earn while you learn model, coupled with the ability to advance while still in training, provides increased financial stability to our apprentices and their families.

Faith Technologies exists to Create World Class Opportunities to Succeed. By redefining our apprenticeship program, we can expand employee development by creating more highly skilled and stronger-performing technicians and electricians. This not only extends the value we offer to our clients, but also gives our employees opportunities to pursue their professional and personal aspirations.

Congratulations to the Faith Technologies University Class of 2019! Faith Technologies is poised for significant growth over the next several years, and the value and high-quality service our apprentices can bring to our clients will only continue to grow.
